Description
We’re looking for a hands-on marketing manager who understands Shopify merchants, eCommerce, and SaaS growth.
This role is not about generic marketing—it’s about driving qualified Shopify merchants to install our apps and helping them succeed after install.
You’ll work closely with the founder, product, and support teams to turn product value into clear, merchant-focused messaging across the Shopify App Store, website, email, and content channels.
Key Responsibilities
Shopify App Store Growth (Core Responsibility)
Optimize Shopify App Store listings:
- App title, subtitle, short & long description
- Feature bullets (conversion-focused)
- Screenshots copy & flow
- Pricing page messaging
Research keywords merchants actually search for
Continuously A/B test:
- Messaging
- Feature order
- Value propositions
Monitor:
- Install → trial → paid conversion
- Uninstall reasons & drop-off points
Merchant-Focused Positioning & Messaging
- Translate features into merchant benefits (AOV, conversion, time saved, wholesale efficiency)
- Create use-case-based positioning:
- DTC vs Wholesale
- B2B vs B2C
- Shopify Plus vs non-Plus
- Align messaging across:
- App store
- Website
- In-app onboarding
- Emails
Content & Demand Generation
- Plan and execute content that attracts Shopify merchants:
- Blog posts (use cases, comparisons, guides)
- Landing pages for specific problems (e.g. “Wholesale bulk ordering”)
- Feature announcements
- Collaborate on:
- Case studies
- Merchant success stories
- Review amplification (social & app store)
Email & Lifecycle Marketing
- Improve:
- Install → activation emails
- Trial conversion emails
- Feature education emails
- Churn reduction emails
- Segment merchants by:
- Store type
- Plan
- Usage behavior
- Focus on education, not promotion
Competitive & Market Research
- Track competing Shopify apps:
- Pricing
- Positioning
- Feature emphasis
- Identify:
- Gaps
- Weak messaging
- Opportunities to differentiate
- Share insights with product & leadership teams
Collaboration & Execution
- Work with:
- Product team (features → messaging)
- Support team (real merchant pain points)
- Design team (screenshots, banners, visuals)
- Execute fast, iterate faster
Job Responsibilities
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have
- 2+ years experience in:
- SaaS marketing OR
- Shopify app ecosystem
- Strong understanding of:
- Shopify merchants
- eCommerce workflows
- DTC & Wholesale/B2B
- Hands-on experience with:
- Shopify App Store optimization
- Conversion-focused copywriting
- Ability to turn features into benefits
Nice-to-Have (Big Plus)
- Worked with:
- Shopify Partners
- SaaS trial-based products
- Familiar with:
- GA4, Mixpanel, or similar
- Hotjar / session recordings
- Email tools (Klaviyo, Customer.io, etc.)
- Experience marketing to international merchants
